We continued with our Number Maths lessons this week. Each Monday, Tuesday and Friday our Number Maths lessons take place in the classroom and class teachers work with the mainstream children whilst Mr Pheasant takes a small group of children that we have identified need support for this unit of inquiry. Mrs J, Ms Priya and Mrs Sanghvi also work very closely with the children in all classrooms to help support. We focused on maths expectations and routines and begun teaching our place value concepts.
Number Maths Challenge
If you make a 4 digit number and one of them is always a 3, how many possible numbers can be made? The other digits can repeat, but they cannot be a 3.
e.g. 4,344 is ok, but 4,334 is not.

In our Strand Maths lessons we used straws and blu-tack to investigate the properties of triangles.
We continued to work on our layout and pace this week. Some children have shown some fantastic independence so good work!
We continued our work studying excellent examples this week, with more focus on the language features that we could use in our own writing. We noticed how authors use the senses to add detail as well as more technical skills like similies and metaphors. Some of us worked on the laptops to create some fantastic sentences using a picture for inspiration.
