Letters have gone home regarding swimming lessons. Please fill in the reply slip carefully as this helps Mr Teahan form the swimming groups. Make sure that you and your child read the letter carefully so that they are clear on what to bring on their swimming day.
Changes Unit
Dear Parents,
This week we wrapped up our units in English and Unit of Inquiry. This involved preparing for summative tasks as well as reflecting on our learning.
How We Organise Ourselves
Central Idea: The way we communicate information through digital media can bring challenge, benefits and responsibilities.
Lines of Inquiry
- How new digital media is used and organised
- Evaluating information
- Our responsibility in virtual environments
This is a paperless unit, designed to encourage the students to see the positives and challenges of using digital media on a daily basis.
Fractions and Decimals
Central Idea – Fractions and decimals are ways of representing whole part relationships
Lines of Inquiry:
- Constructing and representing equal parts of a whole
- Identifying, ordering and describing fractions using mathematical language
- Understanding the relationship between fractions and decimals
The children will be:
Completing the final assessments
To present information about something, generally describing an entire class of thing, whether natural or man-made.
The structure of an information report:
- an general opening statement or classification, for example sparrows are birds .
- a series of paragraphs detailing aspects of the subject (can use sub-headings)
- diagrams or illustrations to aid the presentation of information
- concluding or summarising statement (this is not always necessary)
- a glossary to define terms

Homework books are collected and marked each Friday. Please ensure homework is returned each Friday as late homework will not be marked.
