Year 2 Update Wk 1
Lifestyle choices can affect human health and well-being
Lines of Inquiry
- What it means to have a balanced lifestyle (causation)
- The choices we make that affect our health (reflection)
- Our responsibility for our own well-being (responsibility)
This week we were provoked into thinking about the lifestyle choices we make on a daily basis and whether these are good or bad.
We carried out our pre-assessment task on this UOI by identifying what a healthy person might; Eat and Drink, Say, Think and Do. As a class we discussed different ways that we keep ourselves healthy inside and out of school.
Throughout this unit we shall be inquiring into 5 key areas; nutrition, exercise, relationships, relaxation and hygiene.
Count by naming numbers in sequences, to and back from 999, moving from any starting point
- Connect number names and numerals to the quantities they represent up to 999
- Count on and back to 999, moving from any starting point
Next week we shall continue to develop our knowledge of numbers to 999. We shall be playing place value games and working with Dienes blocks and place value arrow cards to help us better recognise, model, read, write and order three digit numbers.
Golden Book Assembly shall begin on Monday 22nd August
