As we head into our final week of Year 5, we would like to take this opportunity to thank the students for all their hard work and effort over the year and wish them all the very best for their final year at Beacon Hill. We look forward to seeing the amazing things they do. For those students who are leaving us to embark on new adventures, we wish them all the very best of luck and hope they will keep in touch with their friends at Beacon Hill. We hope you all have a lovely summer holiday and enjoy a well earned rest.
Swimming
This week students were pleased the weather held out for a second week to allow them to get into the swimming pool and continue to develop their swimming strokes. The children worked exceptionally hard and we hope they will have the opportunity to continue their hard work for our final session next Thursday.
Buddies
The children have had or will be having the opportunity to say goodbye to their Year 1 buddies. It has been terrific to see the relationships between the children develop and they have learned a lot from one another.
Portfolios – your child’s portfolio will be coming home in the next few dayd for you to have a browse through. They look fantastic and all the work has been chosen by the children. It is a reflection of important learning they have done throughout this year. All pieces might not be perfect but we stressed the importance of choosing work that isn’t always perfect and that demonstrated their growth, progress, and targets for the future. These portfolios need to come back to school before the end of the year so next year’s teacher can peruse them. At the start of the 2018-19 academic year, their new teacher will send these home again. Please return all portfolios.
