MathsThis week the students have been focussed on applying the addition strategies that they have been learning to a range of problem-solving and open-ended challenges. They have also reviewed their knowledge of subtraction strategies and have been applying these to mathematical challenges and games.
English This week the students wrote their final information report for the previous unit about butterflies. They demonstrated their understanding of the features of this text type and combined their knowledge of compound and complex sentences.
U.O.I This week we started our new unit of inquiry where the students began to investigate into their understanding of exploration and discoveries. Students also used their Padlet to share what they already know about exploration and discovery such as famous explorers.

Next week, the students will be investigating different explorers and discoveries and looking at the impact they had in different parts of the world.

Mathematics
All children should aim to spend 30 minutes per week completing their assigned Mathletics tasks and/or practising their times tables.
Mandarin
All children are encouraged to take a reading book home on the days when they have Mandarin lessons.
