The children have all completed their InCAS assessments and have all demonstrated a growth mindset when working on the assessments. Well done to all the Year 3 on showing perseverance and determination throughout this week.
This week in Unit of Inquiry the children looked at how drama can be used as a form of communication and continued to inquire into different signs and symbols.
In Maths we continued to focus on place value including how to partition, the different ways to represent numbers, and the value of each digit. They have been problem solving using their knowledge of place value.
In English the children have continued to focus on the reading comprehension strategy: self-monitoring. Our text type focus is recount and we have continued to look at features and write our own recounts.
Effective communication can be enhanced through different methods.
Lines of Inquiry
- Hows signs and symbols facilitate effective communication
- How The Arts can be used to communicate
- The reasons and impact for communicating in different ways
Next week the children will be looking into the different ways people can communicate. They will also continue to examine how Drama can be used as an effective way to communicate.
Next week the children will continue to apple pace value to partition and rename four-digit numbers. They will also look into recognising, modelling, representing and ordering four-digit numbers.
Mathletics passwords are in your child’s diary. Please make sure that an adult supports your child when working through the place value activities. Well done to all those who have made a great start and especially to those who already have achieved certificates.
PLEASE CAN YOU REMIND YOUR CHILDREN THAT ANY ITEMS THEY BRING TO SCHOOL SHOULD BE LABELLED WITH THEIR NAMES AND IF IT IS SOMETHING VERY PRECIOUS TO THEM, IT SHOULD NOT BE BROUGHT TO SCHOOL.
