Unit 5 Movement Composition
Unit 5 Invasion Games – rugby
The Year Twos have been introduced to mini rugby. They have been taught the skills of passing, defending, attacking and how to tackle. They have started using these skills in modified rugby games.
PMP
Many thanks to the parents who have volunteered to help with PMP this term. The PMP sessions will focus on balance, movement, cooperation and fitness this term.
Unit 5 Invasion Games -gaelic football
The Year Threes have been introduced to the game of gaelic football. Gaelic football combines the skills of football, basketball and rugby. They have started to use the skills learnt in modified games.
Unit 5 Games – tennis
Unit 5 Games – cricket
The Year Fours have been learning the skills of cricket and have been using the skills learnt in modified cricket games. During the unit we focussed on the skills of batting, bowling and fielding.
Unit 5 – Playground Games
With their class teachers they have been playing a variety of playground games where they have worked on teamwork and tactical decision making.
Unit 5 – Individual Pursuits – Athletics
The Year 5 athletics unit has focussed on energy use in athletics. The students have looked anaerobic and aerobic energy and how it can be used when running, jumping and throwing.
Unit 5 Movement Composition – Dance
With their class teachers they have been doing a unit on movement composition with a focus on dance. They have explored different dance styles and looked how to create their own dance moves.
Unit 5 – Adventure Challenge
The Year Sixes have been doing an adventure challenge unit. The first half focussed on team work, cooperation and communication. The second half of the unit will focus on the sport of orienteering.
Unit 5 – Health and Fitness
With their class teachers the focus has been on health and fitness with an emphasis on life long health and fitness goals.
This is a new section for the monthly P.E. update. This section will be for celebrating sporting success outside of school. So if your child does well in any sporting events (rugby, tae kwon do, golf, etc.) please email me at timothy.teahan@bhs.edu.hk and I will include it in this section. If you also have a photo I will also try and include it as well (space and size permitting!).
