PE Monthly Update #2
Unit 2 Games – cricket
This week the Year Twos started their unit on cricket. This unit will cover the skills of bowling, striking and fielding using modified rules. They will use the skills in modified striking and fielding games.
Unit 2 Individual Pursuits – Athletics
This unit will explore the different ways we can run, jump and throw. We will look at the techniques needed for good running, throwing and jumping.
Unit 2 Movement Composition – Dance
With their class teachers they will be expressing themselves through dance. They will look at copying and creating dances that express freedom and creativity. They will use these dances to enhance their understanding of children’s rights.
Unit 2 Games – Basketball
The Year Fours have started a new unit on basketball. 4F and 4L are learning basketball with Mr Teahan and Miss Wu is teaching 4W basketball. The lessons will focus on the skills needed to play basketball and how to use them in modified games.
Unit 2 Individual Pursuits
The Year Fours have also started a new unit on athletics (individual pursuits). 4W will be taught by Mr Teahan and 4F/$L by their class teacher. The lessons will focus on looking at techniques we can use in athletics that can help us run faster, throw further and jump higher/longer.
Unit 2 Tennis
With their class teachers they have started a new unit on tennis. They will consolidate the skills they have learnt in previous years and will use the skills in modified tennis games.
The Year Sixes have just started their movement composition unit based on gymnastics. They will look at how to link sequences and make them flow smoothly. They will create sequences on different gymnastics apparatus and work on trying to incorporate aesthetic movements.
Unit 2 Games -Handball
With the class teachers they will be focus on the skills of badminton. They play modified badminton games and will focus on how to attack and defend when playing a game of badminton.

Well done to Zoie (5D) for her tremendous golfing success over the last few months. Zoie has won the following golf events: KSC Winter Junior Open, HK Junior Open 9-10 and the KSC 9 hole championship. She has been promoted to the HKGA Junior squad which is amazing achievement.
