Parking Issues

Dear Parents,

I need to inform you about some serious issues regarding parking / dropping off / picking up students. Last Friday and today I have had a visit from a Station Sergeant from the Hong Kong Police Force following up complaints about the congestion caused by cars and buses outside BHS.

The Traffic Wardens and Police Officers have been very lenient and supportive and want to find a compromise that suits everyone.

Private cars and school buses will not be able to wait outside the school or on nearby roads until 15 minutes prior to the end of the school day. This includes Alnwick Road and Warwick Road. Any vehicles arriving earlier or waiting for longer periods will be issued with a fixed penalty notice.

Private vehicles should only wait on one side of Alnwick Road  – the side which has no yellow lines – to allow access to residents.

Drivers must not double park or wait (even for 30 seconds) alongside the buses on Ede Road as this causes an obstruction and is potentially dangerous for pedestrians crossing the road. Again, fixed penalty notices will be issued to these drivers. Please drive further up Ede Road to find a space.
