Dear Parents, Caregivers and Students
What a wonderful week of celebrations we have had at BHS to bring in the Year of the Rat. This began with our school hosting the magnificent ESF, CNY concert for colleagues, parents and members of the ESF Board. This was recorded ‘live’ and you can view the performance on the ESF Facebook page; or you can access the video through our own Facebook page.
On Wednesday we had our very own BHS CNY assemblies which were sensational. Our talented children entertained the audience of students and parents with a variety of different dancing, singing, sword dances, fan dances, skits, martial arts and even a fashion show. It was a very special occasion and made us all so proud to be part of this wonderful school community. A special thanks to our comperes; Tammy Zhou 6P, Louis Zhang 6P and Monique Wong 6C who led the shows in a professional way, demonstrating how articulate they are in both English and Chinese. Well done! For photos, click HERE.
Today the students spent most of the day in multi-aged groups learning about and experiencing a number of cultural activities. A highlight in the afternoon was the lion dance which was performed to the entire school in the playground. This brought smiles, laughter and joy to all. What a special time of the year! A HUGE thanks to all of the Mandarin Department, led by Ms Lynn. The team has worked collaboratively and showed absolute dedication to making outstanding CNY memories for all. A big thank you to all of the other staff in the school who also helped in many different ways to make the week such a success.
Government Education Grant
An email was sent last week with details of how to claim this grant. Please refer to the procedures outlined in the email. Signed forms are to be handed into our school office. Please do not send to ESFC or to the Education Bureau.
PLEASE NOTE: Our receptionist Anna is checking through all of the forms for the Student Grant Scheme. She has noticed that many parents are completing their bank details incorrectly as they are not including the bank code. If this is the case, your form will be sent home for you to repeat. Parents then need to reprint the form and resubmit to school before the closing date. For your reference, these are the most popular bank codes used in HK:

Box of Hope
Action in the PYP is when students are inspired through their learning and their experiences to make a difference to their lives or the community connected to real life issues and opportunities. We would like to celebrate our students taking action outside of school. If your child has taken any action, we would be happy to share that with the BHS community through this newsletter and through our Facebook page. Please email details and a photograph to kannis.tsui@bhs.edu.hk
At BHS we value the importance of developing the ‘whole’ child and this means valuing their achievement and interests outside of school. If your child has achieved something special, we would be happy to share that with the BHS community through this newsletter and through our Facebook page. Please email details and a photograph to kannis.tsui@bhs.edu.hk
