Dear Parents,
Art Exhibition
Last Friday saw the opening of the ESF Art Exhibition – The Journey: An Exploration of Art at K11 Art Mall. Mr Whyman has worked with a group of students to create Art for this exhibition. If you have not yet had chance to see it, the exhibition will run until Sunday 2nd June. The exhibition showcases the artistic talents of ESF students from Kindergarten through to Secondary.
4W Class Assembly
Today, the students of 4W delighted us with an assembly demonstrating their understanding of the 5 ways to wellbeing. They explored what it means to Take Notice, Give, Connect, Keep Learning and Be Active and communicated through role play, song and dance. We have been challenged to all try at least one of the ways each day and to encourage others. Well done to all the students in 4W and the adults who supported them.
Transition Days
Yesterday, we welcomed our kindergarten students who will be joining our Year 1s next year. There was a lovely confident atmosphere as the students got to find out a bit about BHS along with their families.
Today, our Year 6 students went to visit their future Secondary schools to experience a day in the life of a secondary student. BHS are making a commitment to ensure that the transition process for all our students is a smooth one.
Student Achievement
At BHS we value the importance of developing the ‘whole’ child and this means valuing their achievement and interests outside of school. If your child has achieved something special, we would be happy to share that with the BHS community through this newsletter. Please email details and a photograph to kannis.tsui@bhs.edu.hk
Action in the PYP at BHS
Action in the PYP is when students are inspired through their learning and their experiences to make a difference to their lives or the community connected to real life issues and opportunities. We would like to celebrate our students taking action outside of school.
Please email examples to kannis.tsui@bhs.edu.hk, and they will share through our newsletter.
BHS
There are different types of Action. Last time a description of how ‘participation’ is a form of action was given, below is an description of how advocacy is a form of action.

Mandarin Club
Previously the piggy has failed the Bodhisattvas‘s test for loyalty and was punished. Next Monday 3 June, the story of the Journey to the West will continue. This time Monkey King has made a big mistake of ruining a magic tree where a valuable fruit called Gingsen Guo “人参果” grows. The fruit looks like a new born baby and has the power to enable eternal life for whoever has eaten it. The owner of the tree is also a powerful god. He put Monkey King’s group of 4 people in prison after he heard about this. How they can escape from the trouble? Let’s meet at the Mandarin club on time.
