Dear Parents, Family and Friends,
This short week ended with 1F sharing their class assembly. They told the famous story of ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ through video animations, music, props, costumes, movement and dance. They also shared a fabulous poem they wrote using amazingly descriptive vocabulary. In addition to this they performed brilliantly, working together as a big team. Well done to all the children, thanks as always to the adults who helped and to the parents for attending. A wonderful way to end the week!
The calendar for the 2017-18 academic year is complete. The start date for 2018/19 is shown for indication only and families should avoid making travel plans for 2018 until the school start date and back-to-school work date are confirmed. IMPORTANT DATES
Achievement Beyond School
Louis Zhang Zi Mu ( class 3A) took part in the ‘Children’s Go Championship’ on the 14th of May in Hong Kong. He won five games in a row to win the cup in the ‘Beginners’ group. Louis is still in the elementary level of ‘Go’, but his coach and family were all impressed with how well he performed in the competition. Congratulations to Louis!
Wishing you a wonderful weekend.

Mother Tongue Language Groups
On Friday 26th May, students from the Japanese and Korean Mother Tongue Language groups took part in the ESF Olympics held at Kowloon Junior School. The children joined other Japanese, Korean, French and Finnish mother tongue groups to compete in sports from these cultures. It was a fantastic celebration of language. Thank you to our Japanese and Korean parents who support these programmes.

Cricket
On Wednesday the Beacon Hill cricket team competed in the Kowloon Cricket tournament. For the whole team it was the first time playing a competitive match of cricket. As the tournament progressed we improved in all areas of the game. Natalee was chosen as our player of the tournament for her accurate bowling and powerful hitting. Well done to Matthew and Hugo who were outstanding co-captains. Thanks to the parents who came and supported the team. More photos can be found HERE.
