Thank you for your donations and stationery for Crossroads. The children had an interesting and thought provoking trip. They found out about the work of Crossroads and the inequalities across the world. Please talk to your child about the activity they did and what they saw.

Student Led Conferences are on Friday 4th March. Please make sure you have signed up for an appointment on the gateway. On this day you and your child only come to school for your appointment time and your child does not need to wear school uniform. Please arrive early so you are able to start the rotations on time and have a chance to look through some of your child’s work.

Flour babies2

Over the next two weeks the children in Year 3 will be responsible for taking care of some flour babies. Your child will get the opportunity to bring their group’s flour baby home for one evening.

As a responsible parent your child will need to make sure all their baby’s rights are met; these are listed in their baby book. Each child’s homework will be on the day they bring their baby home.

Children will need to take care and entertain their baby throughout the afternoon and evening and must bring them in the next day.

Please encourage your child to think about the different responsibilities.  Silly as this seems, please help your child to treat the ‘flour baby’ as if it were alive, ie. not leaving it unattended, being gentle and calling it by it’s name.

Each child will need to fill in the reflection sheet in the Baby Book and support it with photos, drawings or recounts of the time spent with their baby. This will be shared with the class the next day.

Photos can be emailed to their class teacher if necessary.

All the Year 3 children now have a weekly Dance session led by Rosie Martin. This means that 3K children will need to wear PE kit on Wednesday and Thursday. 3D children will need to wear PE kit on Wednesday and Friday. 3H children will need to wear PE kit on a Tuesday and Wednesday.

Letters have been sent home about the Road Race which will take place on Thursday 3rd March. Return slips must be back by Wednesday and if your child is taking part they should wear their PE kit to school on Thursday.

The Sharing day will be on Wednesday 23rd March. It will run from approx. 9am-11am and every child will need an adult to share their learning with.

Raffle Tickets for our International Food Fair have been sent home please send them back as soon as possible.

Please ensure your child is dressed appropriately for the cold weather. It is a good idea to wear layers of clothing that can be taken off, rather than wearing many layers under their uniform. The children are getting very sweaty in the classroom and this effects their learning.

Well done to all the children in Year 3 who remember to bring fruit and vegetables to school for snack on ‘Fruity Friday’.

Please remember that we have a no nut policy at BHS due to some children having severe allergies. This includes peanut butter sandwiches and nuts in cookies or cakes.
