Year 2 Dim Sum Lunch and CNY Flower Market visit with parents.
Friday 5th February
China Day – children should dress in their Chinese clothing or red/gold clothing. They will take part in a range of activities to commemorate the new year and watch the special CNY assembly. Please note this will also incorporate a lion dance.
Chinese New Year school break
School will close for Chinese New Year at 3.00pm on 5th February and classes will resume at 8.45am on 15th February.
Friday 19th February
Sports Day (more details to follow).

Daily Collection
Children are taken by their class teacher to the front stairs at 2:55pm daily, to allow them to leave the building in a safe manner by 3:00pm.
Celebrations and traditions can be expressions of shared beliefs and values
Spelling homework has resumed on a weekly basis. The next spelling test will take place on Friday 29th January 2016.
Reading
Children continue to bring home one book per night to read with an adult. If they do not complete the book in one night, they are able to bring this home to read the following night. Please ensure that you are leaving a comment about your child’s reading in their reading journal.
Learning Centre Parent /Family Borrowing
As you will have seen in the school newsletter it is now possible for parents, younger children and other family members to borrow from our library. By registering for a family borrowing card you can borrow two books from any section of the library, including the new Parent Collection which contains books about healthy living, behaviour management, fun art activities and days out for children in Hong Kong.

Fruity Friday
Every week at Beacon Hill we have ‘Fruity Friday’. Children are asked to bring a piece of fruit as their healthy snack. We will let you know in advance if and when PTA will be selling fruit so that your child can bring in money then.
